Personal incomes are stagnating while corporate profits rise. It’s not just the media, it’s in every industry. Everybody’s laying off, and the workers left behind are falling victims to the “speedup” – doing their own jobs and the jobs that were once done by others – which is what’s helping the U.S. remain at the front of the pack when it comes to productivity scores.

But at what cost? Canada is forever said to be lagging in productivity — that’s because salaries and employment have been relatively high. But hey, Canada’s wages are stagnating so maybe we’re catching up. Yay us!
